About the Position
This is the perfect opportunity for a Veterinarian with a desire to participate in a variety of surgical and medical cases. The ideal candidate is preferred to have a strong desire in surgery, including but not limited to soft tissue, dentals with extractions, and orthopedics with capabilities of performing minor fracture repair, cruciate and patella repairs. In addition to routine exams, they must be able to diagnose and maintain internal medical cases. No overnight emergency hours required.

About the Team
Our practice is operated by 4+ seasoned Veterinarians that are passionate about serving our clients and their animals. We benefit from our excellent support staff consisting of receptionists, veterinary assistants, and 9 licensed veterinary technicians. We average a 1 doctor to 3-4 support staff ratio with at least 2 of those being Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Longevity of staff is something we are very proud of; the average years our staff has been with us is 12.5 years with many employees ranging from 20-30+ years. Our coworkers enjoy spending time together in and outside the hospital.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
